Product Description

Ideal for decking applications, the Simpson Strong-Tie® trim-head screw features a square drive for secure, slip-free engagement during installation. The low-profile, trim-style head sits flush with the surface, delivering a clean finish. A Type-17 point allows for quick starts, while coarse threads on the lower two-thirds of the shank provide powerful pull-through—drawing deck boards tightly to the joists for a secure hold. Simpson Strong-Tie offers this trim-head screw in stainless steel 6-lobe drive (and painted heads) for hand-drive applications, as well as in collated square-drive versions (with and without painted heads) for the Simpson Strong-Tie® Quik Drive® auto-feed screw driving systems.

Product Details

Key Features

  • Trim-style head for flush seating and cleaner appearance on decking surfaces
  • Square-drive design for easy installation and secure driving
  • Type-17 point for fast starts
  • Coarse threads on approximately two-thirds of the shank for pulling the decking and other material tightly to the framing
  • Predrilling recommended near board ends to prevent splitting
  • Driver bit included in each package
  • Replacement bit part number: BIT1S-2-R2
  • 350-count packs contain enough screws to fasten 100 sq. ft. of decking (6" nominal-width boards installed on 16" o.c. joists)
  • Choose Type 316 stainless steel for seaside applications and superior corrosion resistance

Applications

  • Fasten wood decking and some decking materials. Because of their small footprint heads, trim-head screws are good for general-purpose, non-structural wood-to-wood or wood-to-engineered wood applications.
