Product Description

Simpson Strong-Tie® metal screws are designed to provide strength and superior performance in steel and other metal applications. With a variety of features, these fasteners meet the requirements for residential, agricultural and commercial projects. The Strong-Drive PPHD Sheathing-to-CFS screw is designed to drive through sheathing materials and into cold-formed steel (CFS) using its long #5 drill point. The Strong-Drive PPHD Sheathing-to-CFS screw comes collated for use in Quik Drive auto-feed screw driving systems and in bulk for hand drive applications.

  • Yellow zinc or Quik Guard® coatings
  • Compatible with Quik Drive PRO300SG2, PRO250G2, PRO200SG2, PROHSD60 and PROHSD60M auto-feed screw driving systems
  • PPHD screws may be used as prescribed by the codes for shearwalls and diaphragms as described in AISA S240 and AISI S400
  • Designed for use in dry service, low-corrosion environments and some fire-rated sheathing

Warning

  • Industry studies show that hardened fasteners can experience performance problems in wet or corrosive environments. Accordingly, use this product in dry, interior, and noncorrosive environments only.

Installation

  • #8 — maximum thickness two layers of 18 ga. (0.100" total)
  • #10 and #12 — maximum thickness two layers of 12 ga. (0.218" total)
  • Recommended wood panel sheathing thickness: #8 x 1 15/16"–7/8"; #10 x 1 3/4"; #10 x 3"–1 1/8"; #12 x 1 3/4"–19/32"
