The Simpson Strong-Tie® PBST™ cast-in-place post base is built to deliver high-performance wood-to-concrete connections for decks, patio covers, porches and other outdoor structures. Engineered for strength, the PBST features S-shaped stiffening tabs that enhance download capacity and ZMAX coating for added corrosion resistance when exposed to weather. Installation

  • Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes
  • Install either nails, bolts or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws
  • Install PBST with bottom of standoff flush to top of concrete
  • Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non-top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
