Product Description
Simpson Strong-Tie hurricane ties are designed to resist high winds and seismic forces by positively connecting trusses/rafters to the top of wall of the structure. These ties connect both solid-sawn and engineered lumber across a wide range of applications. Some hurricane tie models are available with additional corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications.

Installation
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes.
- Connectors attached using hex-head Titen HD screw anchors.
- Products shall be installed such that the Titen HD screw anchors are not exposed to the exterior environment.
- Attach to grouted concrete block with a minimum one #5 rebar horizontal in the course.
- Hurricane ties do not replace solid blocking.
- When installing ties on plated trusses (on the side opposite the truss plate) do not fasten through the truss plate from behind. This can force the truss plate off of the truss and compromise truss performance.
