Product Description

Simpson Strong-Tie® DTT™ tension ties are safe, cost-effective connectors designed to meet or exceed code requirements for deck construction. These versatile DTT connectors are also load rated as a holdown for light-duty shearwalls and braced wall panel applications. The DTT1SS™ deck tension tie provides a less invasive approach for attaching a new deck to a home or retrofitting an existing deck to current code standards. Retail pack includes Strong-Drive® SD Connector Screws and SDWH Timber-Hex SS Screws.

  • Provides a code-compliant 750 lb. deck-to-house lateral load connection per IRC R507.9.2(2) at four locations per deck
  • Provides secure deck attachments without requiring access to interior floor joists
  • Fastens to the narrow or wide face of a single 2x member for versatile installation
  • Accepts a 3/8" bolt, anchor bolt, lag screw (with washer), or Strong-Drive® SDWH screw for structural anchorage
  • Compatible with nails or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws for joist attachment
  • DTT1SS is constructed from Type 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance in coastal, high-moisture, or treated-wood applications
  • Available in convenient kits (DTT1Z-KT and DTT1SS-KT), each with the connectors and fasteners needed for one complete, code-compliant installation

  • DTT1Z and DTT1SS may be installed on the narrow or wide face of a single 2x member
  • Acceptable anchorage includes a 3/8" bolt, anchor bolt, lag screw (with standard washer), or Strong-Drive® SDWH Timber-HEX or Timber-HEX SS screw
  • Strong-Drive® SD Connector screws (SD) install with a 1/4" hex-head driver
  • Strong-Drive® SDWH Timber-Hex HDG screws install with a 3/8" hex-head driver (Model BITHEXR38-R1)
  • Strong-Drive® SDWH Timber-Hex SS screws install with a 3/8" hex-head driver (Model BITHEXR12-R1)
  • For DTT1SS installations, use only stainless steel fasteners in corrosive or high-exposure environments
